Eddy Street Commons

Opened in the summer of 2009 immediately south of Notre Dame’s southern boundary, Eddy Street Commons is an new urbanist, mixed-use development that creates for the first time a “college town” adjacent to the campus. The development includes 90,000 square feet of retail space for restaurants, shops, a bank, a bookstore, and other businesses; 82,000 square feet of office space, some of which has been leased by the University; and apartment, townhome, and row house residential units. A Fairfield Inn and Suites hotel opened in June 2010, and a second, full-service hotel is planned for the near future.
